At St. Francis Cainta, we believe that education is more than just classroom lectures. Our school events offer a unique opportunity for students to expand their horizons and develop vital life skills. With a focus on both academic excellence and extracurricular activities, we provide a well-rounded education that prepares our students for success in all aspects of life.
Participating in school events at St. Francis Cainta not only promotes personal growth but also fosters lasting connections with peers, teachers, and administrators. Through these events, students learn empathy and understanding for others, contributing to their overall development. We invite you to join us in creating a brighter future for our students today!
Here is the list of our school events:
1. Buwan ng Wika (National Language Month)
Buwan ng Wika is a highly anticipated month-long celebration of the Filipino language and culture at St. Francis Cainta. Through various engaging activities such as declamations, poetry readings, and musical performances, students can showcase their appreciation and understanding of our national heritage's richness and virtues. These events aim to instill in students a deep sense of pride in their Filipino identity and cultural heritage, as well as promote the importance of preserving our country's diverse languages and traditions.
2. Nutrition Month
Nutrition Month is an annual celebration that highlights the significance of healthy living and proper nutrition for a sound mind and body. At St. Francis Cainta, we recognize the importance of instilling healthy habits in our students at a young age. During the month-long celebration, our students are provided with a variety of engaging and educational activities that focus on the theme of the year, such as, “Eat right for a healthy life!”
Through film showings, interactive classroom lessons, and hands-on cooking and food preparation activities, students learn about the importance of eating a balanced and nutritious diet, as well as the benefits of regular exercise and proper hygiene. This helps them understand the role of good nutrition in maintaining their overall health and well-being. By promoting healthy habits in our students, we hope to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to lead happy and healthy lives.
3. Student Council Elections
The Student Council Election is a vital event that provides our students with a unique opportunity to experience the democratic process of electing leaders. Two parties, each composed of exemplary students, present their platforms and campaign for the student body's votes through public speeches, debates, and discussions. Students from grades 1 to 10 exercise their right to vote and elect their representatives for the school year ahead. By participating in this event, our students not only learn about the democratic process but also develop their leadership skills, critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork.
4. SIGLAKAS Family Sports Day
SIGLAKAS, a combination of the Filipino words “Sigla” (vigor) and “Lakas” (strength), is a two-day sports fest that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and family bonding. Students and their parents participate in various games such as tug-of-rope, volleyball, and basketball, among others. Through this event, students learn the importance of sportsmanship, healthy competition, and cooperation, while spending quality time with their families. SIGLAKAS aims to instill in students and their families the value of an active lifestyle and the benefits of staying physically fit.
5. Book Week Celebration
Book Week is a cherished annual event at St. Francis Cainta that fosters a love of reading among our students. This five-day celebration aims to promote the importance of books and literature in the lives of our young learners.
During Book Week, students participate in a wide range of educational and enjoyable activities, such as poetry readings, storytelling contests, arts and crafts projects, and a lively costume parade where students dress up as their favorite book and comic characters. These activities encourage students to immerse themselves in the world of literature and ignite their imagination.
Through Book Week, we aim to cultivate a lifelong love of reading among our students, promote literacy, and enhance their critical thinking and communication skills. We believe that a love for reading is a key to academic success and personal growth, and we are committed to instilling this passion in all our students.
6. Holy Catholic Mass Celebrations
At SFAMSC, our community regularly comes together to celebrate the Holy Catholic Mass during special occasions such as First Friday and Foundation Day. These masses provide a meaningful opportunity for our students, faculty, staff, and their families to come together and give thanks to our Heavenly Father for all of his blessings on our school and its community. We believe that these celebrations help foster a strong sense of faith and community within our school, and we are proud to continue this tradition year after year.
7. Teachers' Day
World Teacher Day is an annual occasion where we honor and recognize the invaluable contribution of our teachers in shaping our future. At SFAMSC, we celebrate this day with special programs and activities that allow our students to express their love and gratitude towards their mentors. During this event, students engage in various performances such as singing, dancing, speeches, and poetry readings to show their appreciation. They also give small tokens of appreciation to their teachers as a symbol of their admiration and respect. This event is a significant reminder of the essential role that teachers play in our lives and the impact they have on our academic and personal growth.
8. Educational Trips
Educational trips provide students with a unique and enriching learning experience that goes beyond the four walls of a classroom. By visiting important locations related to their lessons in subjects such as art, history, science, and biology, students are given the opportunity to connect with their studies on a deeper level. These trips expose them to real-world applications of what they have learned in the classroom and allow them to gain a better understanding of the world around them. Additionally, educational trips foster a sense of independence and responsibility in students as they are encouraged to explore and discover new things outside their usual routines.
9. First Communion
The First Communion is a sacred and significant milestone for our Catholic students. As a Catholic school, SFAMSC values and prioritizes the spiritual growth of our students. We coordinate with the nearby Lady of Light Parish Church to prepare our Catholic students to receive their First Holy Communion. Through this sacrament, students deepen their understanding and connection to the sacred mystery of Christ, bringing them closer to their faith and their community.
10. Scouting Jamboree
11. High school Night
12. Academic Contests
SFAMSC holds an annual Academic competition from preschool to grade 10 as an opportunity for students to showcase their skills and knowledge in fundamental subjects such as math and science. These contests are designed to challenge and inspire students to further develop their academic abilities and enjoy the thrill of healthy competition.
13. Musical-Literary Contests
14. Foundation Day
We commemorate the foundation of our school every end of January. We celebrate by having fun activities such as a talent show, field demos, fundraising games by the parent councils, and a school bazaar operated and organized by the student council. Parents and relatives are all invited to join their children in this opportunity for bonding and togetherness.
15. Outreach programmes
16. Parenting Seminars
Parenting is a monumental task, and as a school community, we understand the challenges that parents face. That is why we are committed to supporting our parents in any way we can. Twice a year, during our Parent-Teacher Conference, we invite experts in education and child development to give informative lectures and seminars. These sessions are designed to provide our parents with valuable insights and practical advice on various parenting issues.
Our school believes that a healthy parent-teacher relationship is crucial to the holistic development of our students. Through these free lectures, parents can learn new techniques, share ideas, and communicate with teachers to build a collaborative environment that promotes learning and growth for their children. We welcome everyone to join and participate in these events to further strengthen our partnership in raising responsible and successful individuals.
